Who are we?

the emancipation games

The Emancipation Games (EG) is an annual event of track and field and other sports which seek to offer People of African descent in Guyana, one more constructive way to prepare themselves for life. The Games will take place under the aegis of the International Decade for People of African Descent Assembly-Guyana (IDPADA-G), as a national sports event, and a contribution from IDPADA-G to the people of Guyana and a legacy to People of African Descent.  
 

Goals of the Emancipation Games

The philosophical aim of the Games is to make the Emancipation Games a brand capable of inspiring Guyanese youth, particularly those of African descent, to explore and develop their physical talents in a manner beneficial to them, and creates the opportunity for youth of African descent to find sustainable alternative routes to improving their lives in a constructive and competitive way. The Games therefore are intended to have four outcomes:
